Description
Oushak rugs have been woven in Western Turkey since the beginning of the Ottoman period and are considered a quintessential early Turkish carpet style. These rugs are typically known for their large-scale designs featuring angular, sometimes more primitive, motifs and soft, pale color palettes. Compared to Persian city rug styles like khorassans or tabrizes, Oushaks typically and a lower knot count, which contributes to their more angular patterns, but the style remains highly desired by designers and design-enthusiasts alike. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal.
